La Paz, Trip to the Beach : On my third day in La Paz, Mexico, Kam and I went to a beach with a combination of white and black (volcanic) sand. The different colors of sand and pebbles made fascinating and constantly changing patterns. After the beach we returned to the Malecon in La Paz and watched some diving birds in the last light of the evening.

Portland Maine, August 2005 : These photos were taken on a trip to Portland, Maine, in late August of 2005. Most of the photos weren't actually taken in Portland, but at Fortunes Rocks beach, which is nearer the town of Kennebunk, Maine.

My plan was to try out the new filters I had purchased for my Nikon e4500 in preperation for my Burning Man trip. However, I had forgotten to charge the camera battery before the trip and I only had enough juice for a handful of photos.

All of the photos on this page were taken with a combination of UV filter and polarized light filter. This resulted in a "porthole" effect visible in the uncropped photos in the gallery. Unfortunately, this filter combo didn't work very well for the somewhat grey lighting conditions at the beach, though it did work pretty well later at Burning Man.

P-Town Late September 2007 : A trip to Provincetown, MA in September with S.

S. and I rented the Captain's Quarters at the Black Pearl Inn (18 Pearl Street, Provincetown MA) for the last weekend in September. The Black Pearl Inn is a great value for the money, and the Captain's Quarters suite has a private roof deck with spectacular views of the city and harbor.

P-Town in Mid September 2005 : Photodocumentation of a trip that Vicka and I took to Provincetown in mid-September of 2005. This trip spans a period from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning. Photos in this gallery are primarily documentary, though some turned out nicely as photographic art. The photos are in chronological order, and along with the captions represent a mini travelog, though by no means a complete account of the visit.

I've included a few photos in this gallery that are of mediocre quality because of their documentary value -- I wish I had some better photos of Gabriel's B&B, as it is a truly amazing place. Highly recommended.

All photos were shot with my Nikon e4500, handheld. All photos, with one exception, are exactly as they came out of the camera, with only cropping and rotation post processing. All photos include exif information including date and time taken.
